Afwan Abdul Basit

Afwan Abdul Basit is a seasoned content management professional with extensive experience in digital media and journalism. Currently serving as a Content Manager at umma Indonesia since November 2019, Afwan focuses on the Islamic-Muslim-Sharia ecosystem. Previously, Afwan held the position of Content Manager at Alibaba Group from April 2017 to January 2019, overseeing content alignment with user interests for UC Browser and UC News. As Head of Content at ByteDance from April 2016 to April 2017, Afwan managed the Baca Berita news aggregator. Earlier roles include content editing and journalism at METRO TV and a foundational journalist position at Radar Bandung Daily Newspaper. Afwan holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Universitas Padjadjaran, obtained in 2010.
