Aden Bliss

Aden Bliss is currently the Director at Umpqua Health. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Blue Shield of California Foundation from February 2013 to April 2015. Before that, they were with New Leaders from April 2012 to November 2012 where they also served as the Chief Financial Officer.

In their role as Chief Financial Officer, Aden Bliss is responsible for overseeing finance, accounting, facilities management, procurement and risk management functions. They also analyze and monitor organizational financial performance, identify and project new and ongoing revenue sources, lead development of annual organizational budgets, and manage and project organizational cash flow. Additionally, they serve as the primary liaison for Board of Directors, Finance Committees, and Audit Committees on all financial matters.

Some of their notable accomplishments include overhauling budgeting and cost allocation methodology to improve transparency, accuracy and structure of organizational budget; leading an effort to reduce operating expenses by 15% while maintaining programmatic impact and integrity; and successfully negotiating with lender to restructure debt, covenants and repayment terms.

Aden Bliss graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Sciences & Engineering from Stanford University. Afterwards, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at The Wharton School, where they studied corporate finance, statistics, general management, strategy, and managerial economics.
