Archibong Akpan

Archibong Akpan, PhD, is a Climate Policy Expert at UN Climate Change and has been serving as a Climate Expert Reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since November 2016. Akpan's recent roles include working as a Climate Change and Education Technical Advisor at Save the Children Australia and a Climate Change and Education Specialist at the Global Partnership for Education, focusing on integrating climate education into policy frameworks. Previous experience includes serving as a Climate Change Specialist for the ECOWAS Commission, where efforts were made to develop a Regional Climate Strategy, and as Director of Climate Science at SubjectToClimate. Academic credentials include a PhD in Climatology and Climate Change Studies from the University of Uyo and an MS in Quantitative Geography from the University of Ibadan.
