Ana Elena C.

Ana Elena C. is an experienced professional currently serving as an Associate Programme Management Officer at the UN Environment Programme since April 2024. Prior to this role, Ana Elena held various significant positions, including Minister Counsellor and General Consul at the Embassy of Costa Rica in Kenya, and Head of Mission a.i. for the same embassy. With a strong academic background in human rights and international law, Ana Elena holds a Master's degree in Human Rights and Cultural Diversity from the University of Essex and has completed specialized training at the University for Peace. Ana Elena's extensive experience includes work with UNHCR as a Refugee Status Determination Officer, a consultant for human rights law research, and roles within the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Additionally, Ana Elena has contributed to peace education initiatives with CISV International and has experience in product quality investigations at Amazon.
