Joakim Harlin

Chief Manager, Unep-dhi Partnership Centre On Water And Environment at UN Environment Programme

Joakim Harlin is an experienced water resources and environmental management professional with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as Chief Manager at the UNEP-DHI Partnership Centre on Water and Environment since April 2016, Harlin has also held the position of Chief of the Freshwater Ecosystems Unit and Vice Chair of UN-Water. Prior to UNEP, Harlin was a Senior Water Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focusing on global water governance and capacity development. Harlin's earlier roles include Vice President at SWECO International and Head of International Consulting Services at SMHI. Harlin holds a PhD in Engineering Hydrology and a Docent in Water Resources Engineering, both from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, along with a MSc in Civil Engineering from the same institution.
