Mohamed Ahmed

Mohamed Ahmed is an experienced professional in marine sciences and conservation, currently serving as an Associate Programme Management Officer at the UN Environment Programme since February 2019. Prior to this role, Mohamed held various positions including UN Volunteer - Programme Assistant and intern at the Kenya Marine Fisheries Research Institute. Mohamed has a solid background in diving, having worked as a Dive Master at Buccaneer Diving and Buccaneer Zanzibar, where skills in guiding divers and equipment management were developed. Additionally, experience as a Base Manager for Global Vision International involved overseeing project operations while ensuring safety standards. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Sciences from Edinburgh Napier University, a Master’s degree in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and a Diploma in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute.
