Alan Martin

Alan Martin currently serves as the Regional Head at UN Women since March 2022. Previously, Alan held the position of Regional Director at the MacArthur Foundation from January 2019 to November 2021, overseeing program implementation on a regional scale. Prior experience includes serving as Country Program Lead at USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance from March 2016 to June 2018 and as Area Coordinator for the United Nations from June 2012 to October 2015. Alan began a career in the sector as a Program Assistant at IRC from April 2004 to December 2010. Alan earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on Sociology and Anthropology from Ohio University, completing the degree in October 2000.
