Daniel Seymour

Director Strategic Partnerships at UN Women

Daniel Seymour has extensive work experience in the field of gender equality and humanitarian response. Daniel began their career at UNICEF, where they served as the Head of the Gender and Rights Unit from January 2007 to August 2011. Following this, they joined UN Women as the Strategic Planning Adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff from September 2011 to June 2012. Daniel then became the Deputy Director of Programmes at UN Women from June 2012 to May 2015, and later served as the Humanitarian Coordinator and Deputy Director of Programmes from May 2015 to November 2017. Daniel was then promoted to the role of Director of the Humanitarian Action and Crisis Response Office, where they led efforts to ensure gender equality and the empowerment of women in humanitarian responses. Most recently, Daniel has taken on the role of Director of Strategic Partnerships at UN Women, where they continue to contribute to policy change and result-oriented initiatives in improving the lives of women and girls.

Daniel Seymour obtained a BA and MA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford between 1989 and 1992. Daniel also pursued an MA in Human Rights at the University of Essex from 1994 to 1995.
