Programme Specialist-ending Violence Against Women at UN Women

Poulomi Pal has extensive experience in the field of women's rights and gender-based violence, currently serving as Programme Specialist for Ending Violence against Women at UN Women since January 2022. Between October 2020 and December 2021, Poulomi worked as an Independent Consultant for various organizations, and served as a jury member for the Women's Voices Now Film Festival in 2022. Prior roles include Technical Specialist at the International Center for Research on Women, where Poulomi provided expertise on issues related to violence and gender empowerment, and Post-Doctoral Fulbright Research Scholar at Amherst College, focusing on gender-based violence policy. Additional experience includes positions at the International Development Research Centre, Senior Research Officer at the National Mission on Empowerment of Women, and various consultative roles in government and NGO settings. Poulomi holds a PhD in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, along with multiple advanced degrees in Social Sciences and Political Science from prestigious institutions.
