Leonora Mahoney has a diverse work experience spanning multiple healthcare organizations. Leonora is currently serving as the Director of Emergency Services, Trauma & Behavioral Health at UNC Health Blue Ridge, a role they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they were the Emergency Services Nurse Manager at the same organization from May 2021 to March 2022.

Before joining UNC Health, Leonora worked as an ED Nurse Manager at UNC Health from December 2019 to May 2021. Leonora also served as an ICU float pool RN at Wake Forest Baptist Health from November 2016 to December 2019.

In addition to their healthcare experience, Leonora has worked as a Staff RN at Brooksville Healthcare Center from April 2009 to November 2012, initially as an LPN on the subacute rehabilitation floor and later as an LPN weekend supervisor while completing their RN bridge program.

Prior to entering the healthcare field, Leonora gained administrative experience as an Administrative Assistant at Gulf Coast Tractor and Equipment from 2004 to 2008.

Leonora Mahoney has a diverse education history. Leonora first attended Land O Lakes High School from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained their high school diploma. Leonora then pursued a Practical Nurse Diploma at Rasmussen University from 2007 to 2008. Leonora continued their education at Rasmussen University from 2011 to 2012, earning an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Leonora further pursued their education at Rasmussen University in 2012 to 2013, completing their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

In 2017, Leonora obtained the CCRN certification from the AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses). Continuing their educational journey, they enrolled in the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2019. Leonora is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which is expected to be completed by 2022.
