Andrew D. started working as a Student Research Assistant at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in April 2016. During their time there, they worked on embedded software development on NXP, TI and Cypress microcontrollers, and implemented CAN bus and robotic operating system (ROS) interfaces. Andrew also designed hardware using Altium and KICAD for signal processing applications. Andrew worked in this role until June 2018.
In April 2019, Andrew D. returned to KIT as a Data Engineer. Andrew developed predictive maintenance tools in R for heterogeneous machine tool data, cut turnaround time for business requests by 90% with the development of reusable components, and played a leading role in spreading the adoption of Git and collaborative software development practices. Andrew worked in this role until September 2019.
In November 2020, Andrew D. was employed as a Data Engineer at TRUMPF. There, they advanced the components they had developed during their internship at TRUMPF North America and automated the rollout of new features for over 200 predictive maintenance deployments. Andrew worked in this role until March 2021.
In October 2020, Andrew D. began working as a Student Research Assistant at KIT again, where they served until June 2021. Andrew then joined understand.ai as a Data Engineer in December 2022, where they currently work.
Andrew D. began their education in 2015 at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Andrew completed this program after five years in 2020. Andrew D. then continued their education at KIT and commenced a Master of Science program in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology in the same year. Andrew is expected to complete this program in 2022.
