Alberto Alcaraz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Alberto is currently working as the Chief Financial Officer at UnDosTres, a position they have held since May 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at Coalor from February 2020 to May 2021.
From 2017 to 2020, Alberto founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ventura Brands, a fashion e-commerce and apparel exports company. During their time there, they developed Amazon Mexico's young women's clothing house brand and supplied apparel collections totaling over 50,000 units.
In 2016, Alberto founded Manta Capital, a boutique financial advisory and investment firm, where they served as the Managing Partner until December 2017. Alberto invested $3 million in event-driven opportunistic investments and sourced infrastructure and energy deals, forming strategic partnerships and consortiums for oil industry tenders worth over $15 million.
Alberto worked at Sacyr from 2013 to 2016, first as the Country Manager and then as the founder and head of Sacyr Industrial Mexico. Alberto led the company's entry into the Mexican market and secured power lines and substations contracts worth $30 million for CFE, Mexico's national electricity company.
In 2012, Alberto worked as a Summer Associate at Angel Ventures Mexico, where they closed the fund's first $2 million investment and initiated the AVM MBA Fellow program.
From 2009 to 2011, Alberto founded and operated Working Capital Solutions, brokering short-term funding between individual lenders and liquidity-constrained companies.
Alberto also co-founded Iceberg Investments in 2006, where they led the investment committee and served on the Board of Directors of portfolio companies.
Their earlier experience includes working at FIMPE as the Strategic Planning Director, where they implemented a biometric authentication-based solution for government subsidy payments and contributed to the organization's annual work plan proposals and budget strategy.
Alberto began their career at PEMEX as the Business Plan Coordinator from 2004 to 2005.
Alberto Alcaraz's education history includes earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurial Management / Finance from The Wharton School between 2011 and 2013. Prior to that, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2002, where they studied Advanced Macroeconomics. Alberto obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México between 1998 and 2002. Additionally, they pursued further studies in International Monetary Theory & Policy at Cornell University in 2001, and in International Business; Organizations, Management Behavior & Economics at Harvard University also in 2001. In 2000, Alcaraz briefly studied Finance and Industrial Organization at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
