Abdallah Al Dardari

Abdallah Dardari is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in economic development, reconstruction, and international relations. Currently serving as the Resident Representative in Afghanistan for UNDP since May 2019, Abdallah also holds the position of Senior Advisor on Reconstruction in MENA at The World Bank. Prior roles include Deputy Executive Secretary for Programme at ESCWA and Chief Economist at ESCWA. Abdallah has served the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Head of the States Planning Commission. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Urban Studies from IUAV Architecture University of Venice, an Honorary Doctorate from Yalova University, and advanced degrees from prestigious institutions including the London School of Economics, University of Southern California, and Richmond, The American International University in London.
