Ariane Shimirwa currently serves as a Data Science and NLP Engineer at UNDP since June 2024. Previously, Ariane held the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from July 2023 to May 2024, assisting with coursework in Data, Inference, and Applied Machine Learning. Ariane's experience as a Data Scientist at Nithio included utilizing data analytics and AI to facilitate renewable energy financing in Africa through monthly data analysis, predictive analytics, and dashboard updates. As an AI Consultant at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Ariane provided expert guidance on AI implementation in government projects, led training sessions, and contributed to optimizing public transport in Rwanda. Other roles include Enumerator at Energy 4 Impact, Junior Data Analyst at Prime Insurance Limited, and Data Analyst at the University of Rwanda, focusing on data collection, analysis, and reporting accuracy. Ariane holds a Master's degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Rwanda.
