Charaf Ahmimed is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in international development and strategic transformation. Currently serving as Senior Advisor to the Director-General at UNESCO, Charaf has held several key positions within the organization, including Head of the Strategic Transformation Unit and Head of the Social and Human Sciences Unit for Southern Africa. Previous roles include Programme Specialist in Central America and Southeast Asia. Before joining UNESCO, Charaf worked as a Senior Program Officer at the International Development Research Centre and as a Program Coordinator for Partnership Africa Canada. Early career contributions include a Junior Professional Consultant position at UNDP and an Advocacy Officer role at the Council of Europe.
