Ian Monroe

Ian Monroe is the President and Chief Investment Officer at Etho Capital since 2014, focusing on sustainable investing and climate change solutions. As an author, Ian co-wrote a bestseller on addressing climate change and has been a key figure in various climate-related organizations, including Energy Discuss SF and the Intentional Endowments Network. Ian serves as a Science and Strategic Advisor for Climate Neutral and co-founded Oroeco, a technology platform promoting climate action. Additionally, Ian has academic roles at the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford University, where courses on climate solutions and sustainable investing are taught. An alumnus of Stanford University and the University of Oxford, Ian holds advanced degrees in Earth Systems and Renewable Energy.
