Mark Williams

Co-leader of IGCP 714 3GEO

Mark Williams is a Geoscientist, Lecturer, and Researcher at the University of Tasmania, where they teach Physical Geography and Geospatial Science while focusing on digital tool development for geoconservation and geotourism. They currently chair the National Geotourism Strategy Working Group on Digital Technologies for the Australian Geoscience Council and co-lead the IGCP 714 3GEO project with UNESCO. Mark obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Applied Science in Environmental Management and Spatial Sciences from the University of Tasmania. Prior experience includes roles as a Geoscientist consultant and Geoconservation Intern, contributing to projects that assess the geological impact of tourism and preserve geoheritage sites.
