Sobhi Tawil

Sobhi Tawil has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Sobhi has worked at UNESCO since 2002, holding various positions such as Director of Future of Learning and Innovation, Head of Education Research and Foresight, Chief of Education 2030 Partnerships and Research, Chief of Education Research and Foresight, Chief of Education Policy Analysis and Strategies, Head of Education, and Head of Capacity Building Programme. Prior to UNESCO, they were an Associate Researcher/Lecturer at the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies. Sobhi also served as the Head of the Exploring Humanitarian Law project at the International Committee of the Red Cross. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Programme Officer at the Network for international policies and cooperation in education and training (NORRAG). Additionally, they held the role of Academic Director at EP Educational Programs and was a Lecturer in Sociology at the International Institute for Higher Education in Morocco IIHEM.

Sobhi Tawil obtained a PhD in Education and Development from the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies.
