Ling Rivers has a diverse work experience in the agricultural industry. They started their career as an Agronomist at Monsanto Company in 2004 and managed a biotech field testing program focused on improving water use efficiency in corn. Ling Rivers also worked as a Senior Research Lead, overseeing open field and greenhouse trialing for a biotech vegetable disease resistance project. They actively contributed to the development of novel disease resistance strategies and collaborated closely with the research team. Ling Rivers then took on the role of a Research Associate, implementing an innovative breeding strategy within the Fresh Market Tomato program. This involved leveraging advanced technologies to select desirable traits in tomato plants more efficiently. At Bayer, Ling Rivers worked as a Tomato Breeder, leading the development of a comprehensive breeding strategy and managing the overall program. They also served as a Pipeline Enablement, where they supported multiple vegetable breeding programs and executed product advancement initiatives to enhance the vegetable product portfolio. Currently, Ling Rivers is a Technology Development Manager at Unfold, where they established and managed a global trialing network and initiated the formation of a cross-functional Leafy Crop Team to align breeding direction with the commercial product portfolio. They leverage insights from global trialing to meet market demands and drive genetic advancements.

Ling Rivers received a Master of Science degree in Agronomy from Iowa State University, attending from 2008 to 2010.
