Margarida Loureiro

Margarida Loureiro currently serves as Deputy Representative and Head of Sub Office at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, a role held since March 2017. With extensive experience in inter-agency coordination, partnerships, and media relations, Margarida has previously held positions such as Senior Inter-Agency Coordination Officer and Resettlement Officer. Prior to this, Margarida worked for the Government of Timor-Leste as a Senior Policy Advisor on Rule of Law and held roles at UNHCR and UNDP focusing on resettlement and legal reform. Margarida's academic background includes a Master of Public and International Law from the University of Melbourne and an advanced law degree from Université libre de Bruxelles and the University of Lisbon.
