Mel Paramasivan is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in public relations and sustainable development. Currently serving as Global PR and Communications at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Mel focuses on advocating for the rights of asylum seekers. Previous positions include roles at The Crown Estate leading integrated campaigns for environmental sustainability, and at Wellcome Trust delivering influence strategies for health-related issues. Mel has also worked with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Adam Smith International, International Inspiration, UK Sport, Swiss Academy for Development, and SCORE, accumulating expertise in strategic communications, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement.
