Mihret Girma

Mihret Girma is a skilled professional with extensive experience in protection and humanitarian response roles. Currently serving as a Senior Protection Assistant at UNHCR since August 2022, Mihret monitors protection standards and operational practices while providing support to program staff. Previously, as a Protection Officer at Bethany Christian Services from October 2021 to July 2022, Mihret designed and implemented training programs to promote peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities. Experience also includes a role as an Ambassador for African Rebirth in 2021. Mihret's educational background includes a forthcoming Master of Arts in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, an MA in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from Kalu Institute, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bahirdar University, along with various certifications in project management and humanitarian principles.
