Maggie Close

Maggie Close serves as the Deputy Director of Global Partnerships at UNICEF USA since April 2019, focusing on partnerships for polio eradication. Previous roles at UNICEF include Assistant Director and Manager of Global Programs, where responsibilities encompassed resource mobilization for health, disabilities, and gender initiatives. Early experiences at UNICEF also involved emergency coordination and resource mobilization for education and early childhood development. Prior to UNICEF, Maggie Close worked as a Postgraduate Consultant at EATAN, enhancing communication campaigns to improve access to treatments for communicable diseases among migrants in the UK, and as a Healthcare Research Analyst at Guidepoint, conducting market research in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Maggie Close holds a Master of Science in Global Health and Social Justice from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Political Science from Union College, graduating Cum Laude.
