Daniel Alvarez

Daniel Alvarez is a highly experienced data science professional currently serving as the Data Science Lead and Innovation Manager at UNICEF since October 2021, where responsibilities include providing technical advisory on data science, machine learning, and AI. Additionally, Daniel mentors AI and data science for startups supported by the UNICEF Venture Fund. Previously, as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow, Daniel supported the US Geological Survey by enhancing data management strategies and presenting recommendations for critical data strategies. Daniel's extensive experience also includes roles as a Senior Data Scientist at Workday, Data Scientist at the World Food Programme, and Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst at USAA, among others. Daniel holds a Master in Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University.
