Meseret Getahun

Meseret Getahun is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and market systems development in the agricultural and social protection sectors. Currently serving as a Program Manager for the Mastercard Foundation at UNICEF since August 2025, Meseret focuses on empowering conflict-affected youth in Ethiopia. Prior roles include Global MSD Advisor at Mercy Corps, where Meseret led market-related initiatives across agriculture and WASH sectors, and served as Senior Market System Development Technical Advisor. Additional experience includes positions at FAO, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, and Integrated Seed Sector Development Program, highlighting a strong commitment to improving livelihoods, food security, and resilience among vulnerable populations. Meseret holds an MSc in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension from Haramaya University and a BSc in Cooperatives Business Management from Mekelle University.
