Sarbjit Sahota is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response. Currently serving as a Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist at UNICEF India since November 2009, Sarbjit advocates for children's rights in disaster risk reduction policies and practices while collaborating with government and various organizations. Prior to that, Sarbjit was the Executive Director at RedR India from February 2003 to October 2009, leading the development of humanitarian professionals across Asia in partnership with major agencies. Sarbjit's earlier role as Field Programme Coordinator at Oxfam involved managing emergency response efforts and leading a team for post-earthquake rehabilitation projects. Academically, Sarbjit holds a Master's Degree in Urban Design from CEPT University and a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from MITS Gwalior.
