Gil Azevedo

Gil Azevedo is an experienced executive currently serving as the Executive Director at Unicorn Factory Lisboa since May 2022, where efforts focus on fostering the Lisbon innovation ecosystem and promoting areas such as startup incubation and international partnerships. Azevedo previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Consumer Banking at Emirates Islamic from April 2012 to July 2022, overseeing consumer banking strategy and digital banking initiatives. Additional leadership roles include Head of Marketing and Business Development at Emirates Islamic Bank and various positions at Emirates NBD and McKinsey & Company, where Azevedo led strategic projects in retail banking and telecom across multiple countries. Azevedo holds an MBA from Columbia University and a degree from Instituto Superior Técnico, complemented by early education at Colégio Militar.
