John Anthony Labarga

John Anthony Labarga is a seasoned professional in data science and machine learning with extensive experience across various industries. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at Unilever since October 2021, Labarga oversees the development of innovative machine learning applications for FMCG product design, including predictive models and LLM-powered tools. In addition, Labarga has been a Lecturer in the Statistics Department at the University of Connecticut since January 2014, sharing expertise with students. Prior roles include Senior Data Scientist positions at Sanofi, where Labarga built bioinformatics components for sickle cell treatment, and Lockheed Martin, leading NLP R&D initiatives. Labarga holds a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Occidental College.
