Indrajith Hapuarachchie

Indrajith Hapuarachchie has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, with expertise in IT strategy, solutions, and management. Currently, they serve as the Deputy Chief Information Officer / Vice President IT at Union Bank of Colombo, where they collaborate with the CIO in planning and formulating strategies to leverage the bank's ICT capabilities. Prior to this, they worked at Hatton National Bank PLC as the Senior Manager IT Strategy and Solutioning, leading the IT strategy and solutions function and achieving significant cost savings. Indrajith also served as the Head of IT at Continental Insurance Lanka Ltd, where they established the ICT function and implemented datacenters and standardized server infrastructure. Additionally, they held leadership roles at SMIB Bank and Union Assurance PLC, where they implemented ICT infrastructure modernization projects and was responsible for IT strategy, innovation, and stakeholder management. Indrajith began their career at Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC as a Junior Executive, gradually progressing to an Executive in IT. Overall, they are a seasoned IT professional with a strong track record of driving organizational growth and efficiency through technology.

Indrajith Hapuarachchie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from the University of Colombo from 2000 to 2003. Later, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Sikkim Manipal University - Distance Education. Additionally, they obtained various certifications, including "Career Essentials in Generative AI" by Microsoft and LinkedIn, "Prompt Engineering: How to Talk to the AIs" by LinkedIn, and "Jira Fundamentals Badge" by Atlassian.
