Union Church is seeking a collaborator, problem-solver, and leader looking to build leaders and spearhead the organization's digital communications.
In this role, you will:
• Develop a multi-channel digital communications strategy driven by the church's mission/vision/values.
• Unify and align everyday messaging with the church's culture, goals, and priorities.
• Partner with ministries, meeting with them and creating communications plans to mobilize their specific audiences to respond.
• Guide staff and volunteers to implement effective communications strategies (Manages 3-4 direct reports).
• Manage day-to-day oversight of all Union Church social media, web, and email communications
Candidate Profile
LEADERSHIP
You are a leaders leader (natural or taught, we like them both!). You are a big-picture planner, ministry partner, coach, and motivator. You have a proven ability to lead and manage other staff and volunteers to implement communications strategies. You are passionate about communication and inspiring and equipping others to be the same.
CREATIVITY
You definitely consider yourself a "creative." You continually look for ways to communicate in ways that leave strong impressions and drive action. You are as comfortable word-smithing copy as you are discussing photos, video, and design on a high level while having an appreciation for a well-considered design aesthetic.
COACHING/TRAINING
You are an aggressive learner but a generous teacher. You like educating people about procedures and processes for communicating messages. You can meet stakeholders where they are, in their level of understanding. You are willing to help people find their core message, and you manage systems that help remove the barriers to communications.
MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS
You are a natural marketer. You can quickly close the loop for people on the "why." You thrive on distilling messages down to their most essential parts, and you naturally think of effectiveness.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
You have a global understanding of social media and its role in shaping opinion, building affinity, and driving engagement. You have a mastery of capabilities within each platform, and you assess trends to find opportunities to join the conversation. You can use engagement data to drive strategy and fixate on maximizing every ad dollar.
This position requires the successful candidate to be able to work out of our Glen Burnie location and is not eligible for remote work.
Salary & Benefits
Union Church offers a generous compensation package. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
