Michele Dorney

Michele Dorney has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michele is currently the Director of Human Resources at Union County Vocational-Technical Schools since January 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at Linden Public Schools from March 2017 to December 2020. In addition, they also served as the Human Resources Manager at Linden Public Schools from December 2011 to March 2017. Before transitioning into a career in human resources, Michele worked in education as a Teacher of English and French at Linden Public Schools from September 2000 to December 2011. Michele also worked as a Professor at County College of Morris from September 2005 to August 2007, where they taught English writing and composition courses. Michele's earlier experiences include working as a Program Supervisor at AmeriCorps from September 2002 to June 2004, a Customer Service Representative at TAG Heuer from January 1999 to January 2000, and in customer relations at Gap Inc./Gap from January 1997 to January 1999. Michele gained valuable skills in building supervision and customer relations during their time as a Building Supervisor at Rutgers University from January 1996 to January 1999.

Michele Dorney has a diverse education history. Michele completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Rutgers University in 1999. Following that, they pursued a Master of Education degree in Secondary English Education at Rutgers University from 1999 to 2000. Michele then attended Drexel University from 2008 to 2010 and obtained a Certification in English as a Second Language.

In 2010, Michele began their studies at Thomas Edison State University, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership in 2012. Additionally, Michele pursued further education at Rutgers University and obtained an Ed.D in Teacher Leadership from 2010 to 2016.

Michele also holds several additional certifications. Michele obtained certification as a Teacher of English in 2000 and as a Teacher of French in 2001 from the New Jersey Department of Education. Michele achieved National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in November 2009. Michele also obtained certifications in Supervision of Instruction in May 2008 and English as a Second Language in May 2010 from the New Jersey Department of Education. Michele received certifications as a School Leader and Chief School Administrator from the New Jersey Department of Education in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
