Athena Motavvef

Athena Motavvef is an experienced professional in environmental policy and advocacy, currently serving as the Senior Washington Representative for the Union of Concerned Scientists since October 2024. Prior to this role, Athena held various positions at Earthjustice from September 2018 to October 2024, including Legislative Representative and Associate Legislative Representative. Experience also includes work as Communications Coordinator and Federal Policy Intern at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, where contributions involved legislative analysis and community engagement. Athena's early career includes positions as Administrative Assistant at the Valley Industry and Commerce Association and District Fellow in the Office of Councilmember Bob Blumenfield in Los Angeles, as well as internships with the US Environmental Protection Agency and the University of California, Riverside. Athena holds a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside.
