Daniel Barad

Daniel Barad serves as the Western States Policy Manager at the Union of Concerned Scientists since January 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Sierra Club California from May 2017 to January 2023, where Daniel advanced through various positions including Associate Director, Senior Policy Advocate, and Policy Advocate, as well as Organizer/Advocate. Earlier experience encompasses a brief tenure as Government Relations Manager at Breathe California and an internship at the U.S. Department of the Interior, specifically the Office of Surface Mining. Educationally, Daniel holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Gonzaga University, obtained in 2017.
