Alex Sokolov

Alex Sokolov is a Junior Application Developer at Union Pacific Railroad since September 2020, where responsibilities include designing and prototyping a web application for workflow automation, developing a Domain Specific Language for the UI, and collaborating with the intern and management team, utilizing technologies such as Apache OpenWhisk, Kubernetes, Docker, NodeJS, AngularJS, and IBM Cloud Functions. Previously, Alex served as a Design Engineering Intern at GSI Group, Inc. from May 2019 to August 2019, leading a project for in-sourcing over 150 parts and updating engineering drawings. Additionally, experience includes working as a Lab Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from January 2019 to May 2019, focusing on the design, testing, and implementation of a gripping mechanism for an autonomous drone. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 2021.
