Faisal Baig - Aca

Faisal Baig is an ACA and CPA with a strong background in compliance, risk management, and internal auditing. Faisal has extensive work experience in reputable organizations, including UnionCoop and Al Tayer Group.

At UnionCoop, Faisal has held the positions of Head of Compliance & Risk and Senior Compliance & Risk Lead since January 2015. In these roles, they have led the planning process, managed reviews from planning to finalization, issued compliance reports, and implemented various projects, such as listing UnionCoop on the Dubai Financial Market. Faisal has also performed risk assessments, reviewed policies and procedures, and initiated a paradigm shift in the approach to compliance-based reviews.

During their tenure at UnionCoop, Faisal accomplished several significant outcomes, including identifying contractual non-compliances resulting in refunds exceeding AED 2 million and successfully negotiating with a supplier to increase support by U$500k. Faisal also played a crucial role in listing UnionCoop on the Dubai Financial Market.

Prior to joining UnionCoop, Faisal worked at Al Tayer Group as a Senior Internal Auditor from February 2008 to December 2014. In this role, they led the internal audit annual risk assessment and planning process, supervised the end-to-end audit process, issued internal audit reports, and presented audit findings to the Chief Risk Officer and Audit Committee.

Faisal's accomplishments at Al Tayer Group included identifying cost-saving opportunities exceeding AED 1 million, participating in the implementation of a new GRC system called Bwise, and assuring business excellence by reviewing over 200 business processes.

Faisal Baig has obtained an Associate Chartered Account (ACA) qualification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Pakistan. Faisal also holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Balochistan. In addition to their education, Faisal Baig has obtained a certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems from the Bureau Veritas Group.
