Natalie Carter

High School Social Studies Teacher at Unionville-Chadds Ford School District

Natalie Carter has a strong background in teaching high school social studies. Natalie started their career in 2008 as a High School Social Studies Teacher at Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where they taught subjects such as World History, Modern US History, and Psychology. During their time there, they also incorporated Smart Boards and wiki use into the social studies curriculum and served as a Team Leader in Powerful Learning Practice Technology and Web 2. Natalie then moved on to Achievement House Charter School in 2010, where they continued to teach High School Social Studies, focusing on Global Studies and Psychology. In addition to teaching, they wrote curriculum for AP US History, global studies, and psychology classes, and trained staff in Webb's Depth of Knowledge. Since 2012, Natalie has been working as a High School Social Studies Teacher at Unionville Chadds Ford School District. In this role, they teach 12th grade AP US Government, 10th grade honors world history, 10th grade academic world history, and 9th grade Western Civilizations. Natalie has been actively involved in curriculum development, including writing the tenth grade world history academic and honors curriculum. Natalie has also served on the school's in-service planning committee, with a focus on SAT prep instruction.

Natalie Carter has a strong education background in the field of education and instructional leadership. Natalie obtained a Certificate in Virtual Instruction from the American College of Education in 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Penn State University between 2016 and 2019.

In 2013, Natalie earned their Master of Arts (MA) degree in History from Villanova University. Their undergraduate education was completed at Elizabethtown College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Social Studies Teacher Education in 2008.

Furthermore, Natalie holds additional certifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Natalie received the Administrative I Certificate in June 2019. In August 2012, they obtained the Instructional II English 7-12 certification, and in June 2008, they obtained the Instructional II Social Studies 7-12 certification.
