Des Byrne

Des Byrne is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience across various leadership roles in prominent companies. Most recently, Des served as Group Corporate Treasurer at Uniphar Supply Chain & Retail, contributing to business transformation initiatives that enhanced corporate culture, market share, and profitability. Prior to this, Des founded Giraffe Brands, successfully acquiring and relaunching a cosmetic brand that garnered multiple product awards. With a strong background as Finance and IT Director at Unilever Ireland and Lever Faberge Ireland, Des oversaw financial control, treasury, risk management, and personnel across these organizations. Early career experience includes pivotal financial roles at Elida Gibbs Ireland, Chesebrough-Ponds Ireland, and Ernst & Young, where foundational skills in finance, accounting, and auditing were developed. Des holds a B.Comm degree from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA).
