Gilles Gravier has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and companies. Gilles started their career as a Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy Lecturer in 2014. Gilles then worked as the Director of Product Management at ID Quantique SA, where they implemented and drove the product strategy for quantum random number generators and network security. In 2015, Gilles joined Wipro as a Director and Senior Advisor in the Open Source Program Office, where they provided open source strategy consulting to top customers globally and educated them on blockchain technology. Gilles also co-founded and advised companies such as Why! Open Computing SA and Uniris, where they played key roles in strategy and concept development. Additionally, Gilles served as the Study Group Leader at Kyusho International, Founder and Organizer of DS in Chablais, and President of Compagnie Divague. Gilles also worked as an independent consultant, providing corporate strategy advice to clients. Gilles has a passion for promoting vocal arts and photography and has pro-bono advisory experience with iceVault.
Gilles Gravier has a diverse education history. Gilles began their education at Ivanhoe Elementary School in Bellevue, WA, from 1973 to 1976. Afterward, they attended College Nicolas Boileau in Saint Michel sur Orge, where they obtained their BEPC (General) degree from 1976 to 1980. Following this, they completed their Bac C (Sciences) degree at Lycee Albert Einstein in Sainte Genevieve des Bois between 1980 and 1983.
In pursuit of their passion for mathematics, Gilles then attended Lycee Jean-Baptiste Corot in Savigny sur Orge from 1983 to 1986, earning their Math Sup/Spe degree. Building upon their interest in computer systems design, they enrolled in ENSTA Paris, where they graduated with a Diplome d'Ingenieur in Formal Computer Systems Design from 1986 to 1989.
To further develop their skills, Gilles also took part in a Summer Term program on Software Engineering at the University of Mississippi in 1988.
Additionally, Gilles has obtained certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Gilles earned the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in June 2006 and was recognized as a speaker at the Open Source Strategy Forum London 2021 by The Linux Foundation in February 2022.
