Peter Hastings

Peter Hastings has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Peter started their career as a Designer at 1066design and then worked as a Crew Chief and Carpenter at James Cameron Construction. Peter then transitioned into the field of land surveying, working as a Draftsperson at Garsed Land Survey, where they took on additional responsibilities and gained knowledge in areas such as stormwater management and geodesy. Hastings continued to expand their skills in surveying and mapping at Woolpert Inc, where they became proficient in AutoCad's Land Desktop environment and gained experience in GIS software. Peter later joined Wilbur Smith Inc as an Instrument Operator, before moving on to G.E. Fielder & Associates as a Technology Specialist and CAD designer. In this role, they performed forest inventory work and drafting and design tasks.

Hastings then transitioned into the software engineering field, first joining Leidos as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of systems for air traffic safety products. Peter then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Pyramid Systems, gaining exposure to modern software development practices and enterprise IT environments. Currently, they are working as a Senior Software Engineer - Team Lead at Unissant, where they lead and trains a diverse team and works on various projects involving authentication and authorization cloud integration.

Throughout their career, Hastings has consistently demonstrated the ability to adapt to new technologies and expand their capabilities. Peter has a strong background in maintaining and migrating legacy systems while also working with emerging and in-demand technologies.

Peter Hastings attended the Alabama School for the Arts from 1990 to 1994 and earned an Advanced High School Diploma in Technical Construction. Peter then went on to study at Boston University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design.
