Akbar Kanji

Akbar Kanji began their work experience in 2010 at Allphones, where they held the role of Manager until January 2013. Akbar then moved to Kinetic IT and worked as a Senior Service desk Technician from January 2013 to February 2014. From February 2014 to June 2017, they served as an Associate System Engineer at Kinetic IT. In 2017, Akbar joined UniSuper as an IT Security Threat Management Analyst and worked there until July 2018. Akbar then progressed to the role of Security Engineer from July 2018 to June 2020. From June 2020 to November 2021, they were an Information Security Designer at UniSuper. Currently, Akbar holds the position of Cyber Security Architect at UniSuper starting from November 2021.

Akbar Kanji completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, specializing in Computer Security and Network Administration and Design, from Edith Cowan University. Akbar attended the university from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Project Management with a focus on Information Systems from the same university, completing it from 2011 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Akbar obtained several certifications in various fields. Akbar acquired the SABSA Foundation SCF certification from The SABSA Institute in October 2021. Akbar also holds the AZ-303 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies certification from Microsoft, which they obtained in December 2020. Akbar became a Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate in October 2020.

Furthermore, Akbar earned the Splunk Certified User certification from Splunk in April 2018. In April 2017, they obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certification from Cisco. Additionally, Akbar holds the Security+ certification from CompTIA, acquired in March 2017.

Akbar's certifications from Microsoft include MCSA: Windows Server 2012 (obtained in February 2016), MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008, MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator on Exchange 2010, MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional, MCSA: Windows Server 2008 (all obtained in October 2012).
