Mark O'Brien

Manager, Marketing Strategy & Activation at UniSuper

Mark O'Brien has extensive work experience in marketing and strategy roles. Mark started their career at GE Capital, where they held various positions, including Senior Marketing Leader and Marketing & Loyalty Leader. Mark was responsible for managing credit card portfolios, developing loyalty programs, and implementing marketing and product strategies. Mark then worked at Crowe Horwath as Head of Marketing and Business Development, where they focused on CRM, segmentation strategy, market research, and business development for the SME market. Mark also gained experience at Coles as the Marketing Manager for Credit Cards, overseeing brand strategy, market research, and acquisition campaigns. Mark later joined Medibank as a Marketing Consultant, specializing in B2B and corporate communications. At AGL Energy, Mark held multiple roles, including Manager of Insights, Segmentation & Planning, Customer Strategy and Segment Manager, and Strategy Manager. Mark led teams and developed market strategies, customer value propositions, and retention strategies. Currently, Mark is the Manager of Marketing Strategy & Activation at UniSuper, where they lead a team in driving marketing strategies, acquisition, and retention for one of Australia's leading superannuation funds.

Mark O'Brien completed a Mini MBA in Brand Management at Marketing Week in 2023. Prior to that, they obtained a BA degree in Economics and Politics from University College Dublin, although the specific years are unknown. Before attending university, Mark completed their Leaving Certificate at Salesian College Celbridge. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Digital Marketing Certificate from ADMA in October 2021, an ADMA WFH Marketing Masterclass in July 2020, and a Human Centered Design - Practitioner & Facilitator certification from LUMA Institute in April 2018.
