Kostis Afentakis

Kostis Afentakis has over three decades of work experience. Kostis currently works as the Risk, Compliance and Capital Markets Applications Manager at Uni Systems since February 2020. Prior to this, they had a significant role at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) from January 2017 to February 2020 as the Service Manager. Kostis also worked as the Support Team Lead at ESMA from April 2016 to December 2016. Before joining ESMA, they held various positions at Uni Systems, including Banking Technology Manager from February 2012 to March 2016 and Sales - Risk & Financial Markets from September 2005 to February 2012. Kostis started their career at Decision Systems Integration S.A. as Help Desk Business Consultant: Listed Derivatives Systems from November 1999 to December 2000, and they also worked as a Product Manager from April 2001 to September 2005. Earlier in their career, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Lucas Aerospace from September 1990 to September 1994.

Kostis Afentakis obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours degree in Control & Computer Engineering from the University of Westminster, where they studied from 1986 to 1989. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Control Systems at the University of Sheffield from 1989 to 1991.
