Lis-Marie G. is a dedicated and experienced professional with a focus on immigration rights, climate justice, and grassroots community support. Currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), Lis-Marie advances solutions for climate-forced migration and disaster resilience in the Caribbean and Pacific islands. As a co-founder of both Seeds of Resistance and Somos una América - Somos Abya Yala, Lis-Marie utilizes arts and culture to defend immigrant rights and builds solidarity among youth leaders in the climate justice movement. Additionally, as a co-founder and Global Citizenship Fellow at UNICEF USA, Lis-Marie mobilizes support for refugee children through education and advocacy. Previous roles include being a Soros Justice Fellow at Open Society Foundations and serving as Florida Executive Director for the American Friends Service Committee, where Lis-Marie worked on asylum and immigration policy reform. With a Master's degree from the University of Miami, Lis-Marie has consistently contributed to the protection of rights for vulnerable populations throughout various esteemed organizations.
