Thomas has held various roles such as Director of Digital Transformation and Director of Digital Marketing & Banking at leading financial institutions like United Bank, KPMG US, First Niagara Bank, and Bank of America. With a background in interaction design and creative direction, Thomas has developed customer-centric digital strategies and operating models, focusing on improving digital experiences for consumers and commercial clients. Their expertise includes defining innovative strategies, developing customer journeys, and enhancing user interfaces to drive business outcomes and create seamless multichannel experiences. Additionally, Thomas has experience in web design and development, client-side scripting, usability, and information architecture, gained during their role as a Professor at the Art Institute of Charlotte. Prior to their career in banking, Thomas served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal in Embarkation and Logistics.
Thomas Bontempo holds a High School Diploma from Page High School. Thomas went on to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design, followed by a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Painting from the same institution. Additionally, they studied Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
