Michelle Clement

Michelle Clement has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michelle is currently working as the Director Third Party Risk at United Community since November 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Sr. Manager Security Assurance at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from September 2022 to November 2023.

Before joining AWS, Michelle held multiple roles at BlackRock. From March 2018 to September 2022, they served as the Risk and Quantitative Analytics - Global Lead Third Party Risk, where they set the strategic vision for the global third-party risk framework and oversaw its implementation. Michelle also secured budget and headcount across the enterprise to build the framework and expanded the risk model across various disciplines. Prior to that, from March 2008 to March 2018, they were the VP Global Provider Strategy - Governance and Infrastructure, where they designed and managed the infrastructure to handle global outsourced provider relationships. In addition, they formalized and refined criteria for selecting outsourced providers.

Michelle's earlier roles at BlackRock include Securities Lending - Global Risk Manager, Supervisor Product Operations from September 2004 to March 2008, where they managed global executive reporting, ensured compliance with regulatory guidelines, and coordinated audit and regulatory inquiries.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Michelle worked at Investors Bank and Trust as the Directed Lending Operations Specialist from February 2002 to September 2004. In this role, they were responsible for executing lending transactions, reconciling between lending systems, and being the main point of contact for lending-related inquiries.

Michelle Clement earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business from San Francisco State University, Lam Family College of Business, from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico, spanning from 1997 to 2001. In terms of additional certifications, Michelle has obtained the CTPRP Certified Third Party Risk Professional certification from Shared Assessments in 2019, and the Claritas® Investment Certificate from the CFA Institute in 2013.
