Joe Iovino

Director, Denominational Content Strategy at United Methodist Communications

Joe Iovino has a diverse work experience in the fields of communications and ministry. Joe has held various roles at United Methodist Communications, including Director of Denominational Content Strategy and Director of Member Communications. Joe has also worked as a Content Writer at Homiletics and Proclaim Sermons. Prior to their communications roles, Joe served as an Associate Pastor at Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church, where they were responsible for administration, pastoral care, preaching, teaching, and writing daily devotions. Before that, they were the Minister of Youth & Family Ministries at Middletown United Methodist Church, where they grew the youth and pre-teen ministry, developed a family ministry program, and created a contemporary worship service. Joe's early experience includes serving as a Pastor at West Creek & Warren Grove United Methodist Churches, where they developed a new, early morning worship gathering.

Joe Iovino obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Religion from West Virginia Wesleyan College, where they studied from 1983 to 1987. Joe then pursued a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, completing their studies there from 1987 to 1990. In terms of additional certifications, Joe obtained the following: a Digital Transformation Playbook certificate from Emeritus in June 2023, a Content Marketing Foundations certificate from LinkedIn in November 2022, a Creating an Editorial Calendar certificate from LinkedIn in November 2022, and an HTML Essential Training certificate from LinkedIn in October 2022.
