Abu Bakkar Siddique has over two decades of experience in information systems and network management. Currently serving as an Information Systems Officer at the United Nations ESCAP since December 2010, Abu Bakkar leads the network infrastructure for the organization and its agencies across Asia and the Pacific. Prior to this role, Abu Bakkar worked at Orascom Telecom Bangladesh Ltd. as Manager of IT Networks, where responsibilities included the planning and design of a national enterprise data network. Earlier experience includes serving as Deputy Manager of IT at the Chittagong Stock Exchange, where Abu Bakkar led the network team in planning and expanding the Exchange’s data network. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology.
