Alexandre Girard

Alexandre Girard is a seasoned Human Rights Officer at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) since April 2014, with extensive experience in Eastern and Southern Africa, Central Asia, and Europe. Responsibilities have included substantive assistance to the High Commissioner, program management, human rights and political analysis, and human resource management. Prior roles at OHCHR included serving as a Special Assistant to the Deputy High Commissioner and managing executive-level support for civil society initiatives. Alexandre has a strong background in official documentation, meeting management, and coordinating projects that provide grants to NGOs in developing countries. Notably, Alexandre temporarily led the Meetings and Documents Unit during a transitional phase for the organization.
