Martha J. is an experienced human rights professional currently serving as an Associate Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Human Rights since March 2022. Martha has been a consultant for Gender Studies for Human Rights since November 2018, co-coordinating an international research group focused on monitoring anti-gender policies and advocating for inclusion in educational programs across Europe and Latin America. Previously, Martha held the position of Head of Advocacy & Project Coordinator at Réseau International des Droits Humains, where responsibilities included drafting reports for UN bodies and leading advocacy campaigns. Additionally, Martha gained field experience investigating the plight of displaced Nicaraguans and worked as a freelance translator for several years. Martha’s academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Equality and Human Rights from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages and Cultures from the same institution, complemented by studies at the Università di Bologna.
