Senior Human Rights Adviser at United Nations Human Rights

Signe Poulsen is a seasoned human rights professional with extensive experience in international organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Human Rights Adviser at the United Nations Human Rights since July 2020, Signe has previously held significant roles including Representative for UN Human Rights - Asia, focusing on human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Human Rights Adviser in Papua New Guinea, where Signe worked on integrating human rights into UN programs and supporting national institutions. Earlier experience includes positions at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, where Signe concentrated on national human rights institutions and gender issues, and various roles at United Nations missions in Timor-Leste and Liberia, emphasizing monitoring, capacity building, and education on human rights. Signe holds a Master of Science in Human Rights from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies from Dickinson College.
